Colorado Springs is Burning

My brother Scott sent me this photo about an hour ago. Thinking about and praying for all my people out there in Colorado Springs. This is just awful.
UPDATE: Everybody I know is alright. A few close calls with some houses of cousins and friends and but generally ok. The charred land and neighborhoods will be heartbreaking to see.

Moving Up Day

What a year! Ms. Harte and Ms. Sutherland are the dream team. We have Monday and Tuesday off and next Wednesday is the last day... Is it normal to be crying and slobbering on your kid's pre-k teacher? We are all going to miss these people so much. Oh, and there is nothing more thrilling than listening to your child beginning to read!

Remembering Woody

We celebrated him and talked about him all day yesterday. Finley and I bought a tiny chocolate yummy thing, put some candles on it and sang him "Happy Birthday." But it is fitting that I didn't blog this yesterday, because I ALWAYS got his birthday one day late and wrong. Miss you like crazy Dad, Wherever you are!

I love our building

Thanks to Rob and Phil and Clara, we have a very warm and cozy family feeling in our building. Our bi-annual stoop sales are ridiculously fun. This time we read runes and tarot cards.  Afterwards Rob and Finley went a little (a LOT) crazy with the sidewalk chalk. It was so cute that a just-married couple wanted to take a photo with it... Reminded me of a some beach hearts not that long ago;)
