Might I Suggest

WHY I did not bring this netflix I had at home with to San Diego me is a tragic mystery, but Annie, check it out sister (and anyone else!). I think you will love it and I wish I had seen it with you. The film takes four specific plants and looks at our relationship to them and how we affect each other.

Not Camille Claudel but a strong, French, female artist - Seraphine is another great one you have to see. The way she creates and mixes paint is alone worth watching it for. (Beware: I think there is a scene where she uses snot as a glaze!) The simple and savage relationship she has with nature is thrilling. 1845 French countryside is again worth watching for... Sweet though often sad story. Again, I blew it - picked this one up at the blockbuster out in Diego and said "eh, can't face the subtitles..." mistake... big mistake!

Now one for all the family to crack-a-lack up to (wait, maybe rated R??) and one of mine (and Craig's) all time cheesy favorites: You won't believe the jokes they make that are actually coming true!

And finally, for Mac - I think it is loosely based on the story of Carole King. Girls Rock! It might be a little early for it but I can't remember exactly - don't think it's any worse than say, Coal Miner's...

We are growing green things in Brooklyn!

My very first foray into vegetable gardening from seed which so lame since we had HOUSES with lots of dirt around them for YEARS... All things in their own time, right? So here we go, thanks to Annie and her seed bank we now have - lettuce growing on the fire escape. We shall see if the beans and beets grow? The little plot we planted in the backyard is a little harder to get to and there are more varmits - we'll see if we get anything - I would be happy with one big sunflower! The pink tree is our favorite (obviously) on the block.

What did you say? More San Diego?.... OK!

When you are sick at Flower House you get to watch as much show as you want, wear Emmett's cool pj's and blow the saxaflute till you barf!

Some relaxing type moments happened too...

That flowering desert blew my mind.

One of the greatest things about Aunt Sugar Cookie - there is always enough to go around!

San Diego Easter Vacation!!

It took me a week to edit the 1500 pictures but I have finally whittled it down to a mere 500! I can't believe this vacation has come and gone. It really goes too goshdarn fast - I hate that about getting older... time whizzing by. Though looking back on these pictures we really packed it in even with some of the ten plagues working against us.
Some highlights:

The 10 Plague face masks! I couldn't resist...

Breakfast jazz scales

Rolling for our D&D characters!

The trampoline delivered big time. Though if you are a female: beware it makes you pee! eek. Finley and Silas were so fricken cute together and there are so SO many pics that they get their own dedicated post later.

The incredible toddler whisperer - Macalac!

This woman could be loving her husband OR she could be getting ready to stab him in the eye with that pencil.

That up ahead? That's our vacation spot!

It took 15 minutes for Finley's lips to turn the kind of blue that lasted all day! She absolutely loved that pool. Frozen or not.

The dungeon master

Two english gentlemen OR no good ruffians - you decide...

Pony rides! Finley lost her nerve when I pinched her little neck in the safety helmet before she even got her turn - nice one MOM! :(
