Snow is Darn Fun

Park Slope Parents is a local yahoo group that saves my soy bacon on a regular basis. On Saturday somebody posted a list of fun things to do with kids and snow. It had not occurred to me that our kitchen has a fire escape and a Window - that I can Open. I also happen to have large bowls and spoons and food coloring to make Colored Snow! And a spray bottle to spray color on snow. I also have various tupperware... tiny ones for making traveling snow soup that can fit in your pocket... ones with holes that allowed us to make a traveling snow soup necklace. Thank God for these intra-nets... I am a much better parent because of it!!

Box of Magic Clothes!!!

It showed up right before bed (the UPS guy had a funny smile on his face) and we had a whole lot of fun going through a big box of love from Dreyer Kids West. Mac's ole' clothes with a few pieces from Emmett and Silas too. PLUS I think Mac knit the blue hat that was on top of it all - am I right guys? My fav fav favorite is a blue corduroy dress with sheep all around the bottom. Finley loved and wanted to try on everything. She would say "hmm, it needs a hat!" or "hmm, this one needs juice!" These clothes are actually very important to me because a)we need them, b)I swear there is Mac Magic (now some E&S too) in them and c) they are just so fricken cool! We have been lucky and grateful recipients of these since before she was even born. Aunt Sugar Cookie, there is no one I have found on this planet to rival your thoughtfulness - we love you!!

JoJoba!!

Pronounced ho-Ho-bah (like santa making sheep sound:)... My cousin Nana was here last week from San Francisco (big fat Nana post coming). We had several conversations about the ravaging New York City radiators and how we all wake up feeling dry and yucky - even with water pots on them. She takes great care of her fleshy encasement (body) and said maybe I should sleep with a giant slather of Aquaphor of my face which I did as I am always up for weird experiments. The next day I had a modelling job where this very hip, young, cute, asian rockstar make-up artist turned me onto what she uses - JoJoba Oil. It seems counter intuitive to slather oil on your face, right? It's cheap. It's amazing. Basically it is the closest thing to the natural oil (sebum) our skin and hair make and doesn't break you out - on the contrary. I was able to find a small jar (organic) for like $3 and it WORKS! For the record, I don't mind aging but I am so happy that I don't have to look like a dried up old shrunken apple head and I don't have to wonder about which stupid moisturizer to buy! If you've got skin, check it out! She also mentioned argan oil but I didn't try it yet and don't know if I need to frankly. I'm happy for this solution and done caring/thinking about it for the moment which is really the best result - woohoo!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

After a nearly three week blog break I feel ready to face the sphere again with, of course, my favorite subject and total crowd pleaser, Miss Finley. Today we had a play date with Lilly, a cutie pie from her school that shares her love of pink, all things pretty and speeeeeed! Lilly's Papa took these great pics... Prospect Park is magic!
