Goodbye 2006, Great Year of the Dog

I was born in 1970, year of the dog. I didn't know there were different kinds, but there are and this year I found out that I am a White Metal Dog and that although 2006 was officially the Year of the Red Fire Dog, I reaped plenty of doggie benefits. There are some of you who think I am hogging the happiness pie (this means YOU, Marla in Colorado.) Normally I would poo-poo this kind of statement, but I must admit we are looking suspiciously fat and happy. I have lived long enough to know that the pendulum will shift and life will even me out, but this year... what a wowzer. I was blessed with enough work to enjoy my relationship to the extent that I was able to get my creative venture even further off the ground. Silas was made. We had to move house which we were very upset about only to get a house in a location beyond our wildest dreams. I had one of the best vacations home to Colorado that I have ever had, just loving up all my family and friends - only to return to find that my big wish of the last 3 years had come true - you know what that is 'cause that's what this blog is all about:) Silas was born. Evan was born. November 7 was a Great day:) and Now with the holidays thoroughly enjoyed and over, I say so long to one of the greatest years ever. Thank you thank you thank you to the Universe, I am grateful for everyone and everything.
Last picture, last moon.

This IS Your Christmas Card

We meant well, but it just didn't happen. If you really want a print, just ask and we'll send it. Or you can pirate and print yourself. Happy Holidays to All!!! Here's to an amazing 2007!
By the way, some of you know we have an anatomy ultrasound on Friday and will have the tech write the sex on a card and open for X-mas!

Belly Update - 21 Weeks

Little by little.... It's definitely rounding out and becoming more fun to rub. Kind of like being your own personal Buddah!

MrandMrsMays Come To The Mighty Toad

Craig spent last week assisting Rob Fraboni in mixing the tasty musical delights of MrandMrsMays, an alternative, indie, punk band from Austin, Texas. They brought their 18 month old son, Merlin and their doula, Cindy. It was a blast- plus they had a lot of great birthing advice for me. I am not promising myself or anyone else, but I have four months to try and wrap my head around a natural childbirth. Merlin was WAY cute.

Murray's Pissed

The spare bedroom, "Purgatory for all our crap" since the move and most importantly Murray's chosen room to chill, got a makeover the last couple of days. We worked our butts off, me sorting, Craig hoisting - now all that stuff is in the attic and we have the beginnings of a Baby Room!!

Ta Da! 17 Weeks 3 Days

Here it is, but I definitely feel bigger than this picture looks. Feel great, enjoying myself immensely! As for The Being Within, I'm still waiting for some definite movement. I keep thinking I feel something, kind of like when you think you hear something, then..... nothing.
By the way, everyone will be happy to know all tests have been coming back good. My numbers were high enough to pass on the amnioscentesis and there is no spina bifida. Double, triple whew.

WHEW!!

Sorry to all that have been checking the blog looking for sweet, happy Holiday posts and finding only "Swamp Mouth". This is truly the first chance we have had to relax and enjoy blogging. We are back from a whirlwind Thanksgiving trip to San Diego to meet our new nephew, Silas and see all the West Coast Family. We both agree that Silas is one of the funniest people we have ever met. Here are some highlights (ripped off the first couple from The Otter):

The Newness of Silas
The Meal
The Cabin
The Boys
The Smelly Dog and Two Good Women
The Pianist
UPDATE 12/26
This post was messed up for a while - lost pictures or some nonsense, but it's back up with a couple new photos - here's the shirt Craig made me while on tour (inside joke with Matt - trust me it was funny.) And a great one of Emmett Craig - cool dude with a seriously tough noggin.

The Super Anti-Craving

Yep, swamp mouth. That's what they call it. It's where your mouth tastes like poopy-caca, sour milk, just bad, bad, bad - all the time!!. No amount of tooth or tongue brushing (I'm up to 10 times a day) will touch The Swamp. Some people have a hard time eating as nothing tastes good. That is not my problem, see I was thinking if I just eat something else it will change. That's a lot of chow. I'm hip to it now and will be managing with ice water with lemon and ginger lemon tea. A little rinse with baking soda and I won't need to eat that whole pizza!

Craig, come home so I have someone to bitch about these things to! Murray (cat) is just not listening...

Also for you who have noticed, I have a little time on my hands and can't stop messin' with this blog - it's fun! Double also, check it out - I found this on somebody's blog (can't remember who, sorry) some of the funniest crabby toddler behavior - ever. And yes, I still want one. I don't know how to show the image with the link yet - just click:

A Message from Within - It's A-OK!!

I cannot stop looking at these. It's as if he/she knew I was worried about the nookal sonogram procedure and was like "Hey, everything's good in here!" Not to mention that, THAT'S A PERSON! A person I am making! A very tiny HUMAN BEING made of Craig and I. Wild, beyond wonderful. Doctor thought everything looked good too.

Second Trimester Begins!

Every Sunday I progress to the next week, and this Sunday began week 13. Which means I am officially finished with the first trimester! I am starting to feel really good, most of the nausea is gone and I have alot more energy - very exciting indeed. Here's the belly... Me and the belly are off to another sonogram today. It's a mildly scary one to see if I need an amniocentesis which is the truly scary procedure.

A Ghoul Time Had By All

It was great, it was crazy - it was Crazy-Great! The 33rd Annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. My favorite thing to do on Halloween, though that will probably change starting next year as it is a "bit of rough." I don't know why they say that pregnant women can't drink - I had 7 or 8 cocktails and I feel fine! Just kidding, notice the decaf latte.

Meanwhile, 1 1/2 hours north.... Luke and Cole are rakin' in the first-place ribbons again this year with amazing Captain Hook and Peter Pan. (Thanks to Aunt Jackie who start these things in JULY.)

Papa Is a Rolling Stone...

Craig is on tour till November 19, travelling around this big 'ole country and part of Canada with James Hunter. Check out Craig's website for details.

Here he is getting his horn fixed at the infamous Perry Ritter's the day before he left. The cat, the fetus and I sure do miss him.

Fall Waterfall

Say THAT fast five times! Meanwhile, just feast your eyes on the amazing beauty that is our backyard. Still can't believe we live here now. Luckyluckylucky.

Pumpkins Need Stable, Loving Homes Too!

It's weird when you start this blogging business. For example, when I saw Craig walking toward me at the market with the pumpkin under his shirt (as re-enacted in the photo), I new that it had to go on the blog. There is life - then it seems, a blogged life. I'm willing to check it out as it feels creative and fun.

My First Post

I am counting the days till the end of this "first trimester" business as it is kind of gross and uncomfortable. I am my own science experiment, totally interesting and fun (and gross, but I said that.) Notable is the fact that the food stuff is real. I seriously ate an entire jar of garlic pickles on Friday then bought two more (big jars!) on Saturday. The saltines thing is true too. I can't get out of bed without at least one.
