Third Trimester....WooHooo!!

Twenty seven weeks down! I feel great and am looking forward to my "Burgess Family Shower" down in Falls Church, Virgina this weekend. Hosted by my cousin Phebe, her daughter Nora, and my Uncle George and Aunt Joan -- Cousin (and Godmother) Nana is flying in from San Francisco to NYC to drive down with Craig and I - then Aunt Anne and Cousin Caroline and her daughter Claire are flying in from St. Louis. Other cousins and second cousins will also be there. It should be SO much fun. I am also looking forward to a few days at the beginning of March at Kripalu with Sandy for a lot of yoga, good food and basic spiritual R&R. What I am not really looking forward to is my glucose test at the doctor's office tomorrow. At least I will be able to put to rest my worries of gestational diabetes one way or the other.

Pregnancy Can Be Emotional

To prove this point, Craig silently tore this out of a magazine and handed it to me. I must admit, I do see some similarities.

I WEIGH 175 POUNDS!

Just so you know. Just a mile marker for the blog.

Annie told me after the fact that it would be a black day. Bless her, because you cannot prepare yourself for this reality anyway. Jacqueline said her black day was when she weighed more than her husband. Eh, pounds schmounds, right? (wimper)

Turkey Tuesday

I have a quote taped to my computer. "You need only sit still long enough in some attractive spot in the woods that all its inhabitants may exhibit themselves to you by turns." - Henry David Thoreau....

Okay, I am not sitting in some shack in the deep forrest in complete solitude, but we have do a great view here at Wilkenson Hollow. We put a winter bird feeder up on the pear tree and I am sitting in the sun room watching Murray watch the birds. Boy, he would like one of them birds. It is really a special day because about 30! I am not kidding here - THIRTY wild turkeys have come to check out the feeder. I have seen this pack since the fall when there were only 10. I have seen these guys multiply with my own eyes.

Yggdrasil Weekend - Part 1

Two full 10-hour days of preparation and this baby room is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Sandy is genius, it is perfect. All of the animals in the myth are represented except those that we thought best to leave out - the dragon and the three grim reaper looking dudes:) As it is, the branches hang over and envelope you which is beautiful unless you think it is scary... Depends what she thinks - we'll see. If she ever wants to change it we will just switch rooms, so sometime in the future you may be staying in our guest room under the tree - aren't you excited already? We have a couple more animals and details to do next weekend - stay tuned!

Bellies Slinging Paint

I mean babies in slings painting. No wait, how about belly's slinging paint at babies. Three subjects in one post - can it be done!???

First, today I got the coolest present from my SIL (sister in law). A gorgeous Maya sling. I have always loved watching Annie sling her babies around. Little papooses, little kangaroo marsupials. So sweet. And now I can sling a baby of my own when she gets here. You KNOW Murray had to have a turn. No comments about how strange I am, please. I am well aware. Thanks for the sling, Annie!!!
Second, here's Craig and I prepping the baby room for the amazing Miss Sandy Wooten who arrives tomorrow to paint a tree or two or tree. :)
And finally, the big ole' belly starting the last week of her second trimester!! (With psycho husband in background.)

Week 25

A close-up of Gracie's drawing. I don't know why I was thinking that the 3rd trimester started after 24 weeks but I was wrong and I am glad because that would mean this thing is going by WAY to fast. I know I will be singing another tune soon enough.
