A couple things brooklyn...

the coffee is so good at the little cafe in the Lyceum - a GREAT raw indoor art space across the street from Finley's school - the people love it for all eternity!! here i am today chatting it up with Manuel... the sumatra really is to die for:)

there is always a random thing on the street that fell from some babe's stroller or dropped somehow - a sucker, a shoe, etc. but this "lovey" made me feel so sad for the little one who lost it because it was so clearly loved and wanted and missed.

Oh, and I have to say that at the playground the other day Finley saw the moon - still finds the moon, always... and she says to Craig and I "show the moon your smiley face!"

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Finley's sleeping life has evolved something like this:
floating in liquid to seriously cramped in liquid, to a rolling crib right next to mama and papa at the birth center, to a couple of strange nights in a co-sleeper, to many nights sleeping right next to the food (ie boob), to much time sleeping on mama and papa in and out of slings, to days on the green couch bolstered by many pillows, to many more nights between mama and papa on a queen on a frame then a king on the foor, to a king on a frame, to sometimes a twin on the floor all by herself, to finally where we are today, a BIG GIRL bed courtesy of craigslist and some 9 year old really big girl would now prefer to sleep on a futon on, of course, the floor. New sheets and stories by Bebe...

And we were singing!

One year ago Matt, Annie and the kids came to Pawling and we spent 9 magnificent days singing, planning, playing, eating, singing some more, stresssing, crying, running in the forest, picking pumpkins, kicking leaves and singing a whole lot more. Yep, we did a whole lot of singing making the Dreyer Family Band Record!! Wish I could do it again and again and again and again. Total magic.

Happy Birthday to You SILAS LOYAL!!!

He's Three! We love love love you and wish we could eat cake or cupcake or whatever delicious birthday treat you are having and sing to you. One thing is for sure we will be thinking and talking about you all day long! Does this mean you get to chew gum now? Finley NEEDS to know...

Here is a testy little birthday song (that she started singing all by herself walking home the other morning. I asked her to do again which I guess pissed her off a little:) and a couple pictures I have been saving for a special occasion as I like to do:::::)))))

24 hour Staycation - Mountain Style

Sometimes my job takes me to really great places and this time I was smart enough to ask if I could bring my family. Mohonk Mountain House, a National Landmark is magic and I surely won't do it justice in this post... It's a 140 year old sprawling old wood hotel that has no TV, tons of fireplaces and lots of places to curl up with a good book. The grounds are gorgeous though we kept thinking about the Native Americans who must have lived here first (The Esopus Indians) The lake has steep cliffs and deep water full of fat trout that you can feed off the balcony. There are miles and miles of hiking trails, gardens with a "Shining"-like evergreen maze and much much much more. Check out the website for history and more info/pics. I had been here once before years ago on another job then Craig had swing gig here a few years ago that he was able to bring me along on - we had a blast ice skating and hiking. The days with the baby are going by so fast and chances are we aren't going anywhere else this fall so we are grateful we got to have this day. Thanks Psoriasis! Who said pharmaceutical advertising wasn't glamorous!!?
